Crawford-Saino, Irene
Irene Crawford-Siano began to write as an escape from the hectic hours of being a wife, mother and office supervisor of her husband's trucking business. Her first efforts were all regrets, but she jumped for joy when she received a check for $5 for a birthday story. From then on Irene went on to write bigger and better stories. Then a major newspaper offered the her the opportunity of writing a weekly column, “Senior Side of Living”, and it became the main focus of her career for the next ten years. In between she managed to write 9 non-fiction books and several short articles.
In 2013 Irene was honored with the Queen Elizabeth 2 Silver Jubilee Medal for her writing. Now a widow with grandchildren, she has returned to her first love, writing fiction romances, which she says "keeps her young at heart:"
